Tesco has boarded the environmental bandwagon with a £500 million “green revolution”.
Britain’s biggest retailer plans to install wind turbines on store rooftops, shift to petrol derived from plants, and sell energy efficient kettles and cheaper long-life lightbulbs.
It aims to move away from flying in fresh food from around the globe and inform shoppers how much energy was used in the production of items on the shelves.
